Package 2: Advanced Automation Technologies

Package 2: Advanced Automation Technologies

This course covers essential training on House Wiring, Industrial Automation, and Motor Control. The curriculum is designed for practical hands-on experience in various electrical applications. Here’s an overview of the key modules offered:

House Wiring Fundamentals: The course starts with the commercial names and selection of house wiring materials, teaching participants to choose the correct materials for different setups. Students will gain practical experience in wiring light fixtures, fans, regulators, and appliances like TVs and fridges. They will learn the total load calculation for buildings and gain a deep understanding of wiring cable specifications and selection.

Key topics also include switches (push buttons, rotary switches, and more), switching contacts (NO/NC types), and practical exercises like fire alarm circuit installations in multistoried buildings. Participants will also be taught the connection procedures for magnetic contactors, and the selection of appropriate motor protection equipment such as thermal overload relays for three-phase motors.

Motor Control and Protection: The motor control section provides hands-on practice with DOL (Direct Online) motor control, which includes specifying and connecting motors. Students will also practice motor checking procedures using a multimeter and engage in star-delta motor connection exercises.

Protection techniques, such as motor overload protection circuits and phase failure relays, are covered with practical applications. The course provides an introduction to various industrial meters, multimeters, clamp meters, and megger testers for measurement and troubleshooting. Additionally, students will learn about motor protection devices like MPCBs (Motor Protection Circuit Breakers) and MMS (Manual Motor Starters).

Industrial Automation: For industrial automation, students learn about advanced components such as magnetic relays, overload relays, timers (on delay, off delay, sequential), and sensors. The course includes practical sessions in controlling circuits using relays and various timers for processes such as controlling motor speed and direction, and handling power factor improvements with capacitors.

The course also covers the use of modern sensors (proximity, photo sensors) and automated control systems such as auto transfer switches (ATS) for multi-phase industrial operations. The aim is to build familiarity with modern industrial systems used in manufacturing and building automation.

VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) and PLC Programming: A major component of the course is dedicated to VFD programming, troubleshooting, and motor running with various brands, such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Delta. Students will learn the hardware description, wiring, and parameter settings for VFDs.

For industrial automation, the course dives deep into PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming. Topics include an introduction to PLC, understanding PLC inputs and outputs, addressing, and familiarization with PLC languages. Students will gain practical experience by working on real-time PLC projects using timers, counters, and various programming commands such as MOV for load control.

HMI (Human Machine Interface): The HMI module trains students on wiring, installation, and operation. Students will learn to control loads using numeric displays and enter data for controlling equipment via the HMI. Practical projects allow them to design systems for load controlling with time duration adjustments, offering an essential skill set for industrial automation.

Conclusion: With a strong emphasis on both practical knowledge and theoretical understanding, Package 2 equips students with a robust skill set in house wiring, industrial automation, motor control, VFD and PLC programming, and HMI operations. This comprehensive training prepares individuals for a successful career in electrical engineering and automation systems.
